Re-Consider, Re-Construct, Re-Novate - Practices of Learning @ Schools

Should I call it "teaching"?

This is what a more than a decade of being in this field has done to me. I wonder if I'm growing wiser or increasingly confused with the use of vocabulary. After all these years of being surrounded by young learners of ages across 3 to adults and my colleagues I feel compelled to deeply analyze the word "Teaching" - a verb grammatically; I have been questioning myself if does this word actually mean something. Conventionally, the dictionary says - "it is the act or profession of a person who teaches". And here is the cause of my confusion. Can anyone teach the other? Is it ever possible? Isn't it always on the learner to decide whether to learn or not and thus, accept the act of teaching or not. No wonder, the teaching community seems to have increasing challenges and struggles to deliver, no matter their expertise. Because until the learner makes a choice and an independent decision, all that we teachers do is like music to deaf ears and creation before blind eyes.

Well, there are certainly some awoke personnel tirelessly trying their best to revamp the systems of education and I can say I've been fortunate enough to have stumbled upon some of the really great pedagogues, their pedagogy and methods to refurbish educational systems to the needs and demands of the current century.

This is a page dedicated to one such relevant practice as an outcome of all my learning in sprucing up my knowledge, awareness and majorly practices as an influencer to uncountable souls coming in contact with me through my profession.

Here are glimpses from my most celebrated practices. The children in the images are across grades 1 to 4 (6 years to 10 years), working on a year end Installation at school as a part of their Making Learning Visible on the topics ranging from Animals and Birds to Adaptations and Ecosystems. When children from across grades collaborate to share and build up on their understanding of a certain variety of topics what consequences is nothing par to ordinary. Each age group brings in their part of learning and contributes in the process of designing something far grander then their individual learnings. A true phenomenon of synergy.

Marvel the glimpses....

Terms And Conditions - Lauren Asher (Dreamland Billionaires)

The second book in the series of Dreamland Billionaires by Lauren Asher.  "its not too late to start making better decisions" "why would she stay? You never gave her a good reason to after the way you spoke to her." "Ya'aburnee" "I'll give you anything you want - anything at all - so long as you give me a chance to make you as happy as you make me. A dog. A family. A home. I want it all. These are my terms and conditions , take it or leave it because I'm not open to negotiations." Could there be a relationship with Terms and Conditions applied to? In the current century this question wouldn't trigger even a fraction of surprise or shock in anyone. Probably with digitalization and artificial intelligence taking over almost all walks of our lives, it is only considered normal to think about conditionality in all spheres - seems like human behaviour and relationships are being re-crafted by AI ensuring a step-by-step clear process ma...

It Starts with Us is a sequel of Colleen Hoover's It Ends with Us! Both are super romances depicting the wonderful character disposition of Lily Bloom. A simple girl with a difficult childhood being a witness to an abusive father and a suffering mother. Lily is not won over by her circumstances and grows up to fulfil his dream of owning her own business in Boston - the city of her dreams or like Lily and Atlas put it - where everything is better! It Ends with Us is a captivating, intense love story between Lily Bloom a young business woman and the charming Ryle Kincaid - the neurosurgeon. It is by chance that Allysa walks into Lily's flower shop and offers to help Lily and gets hired on the spot. Its only in a matter of time that Lily discovers Allysa to be Ryle's sister and forms a kin with her and her husband Marshall. While Ryle and Lily are neck deep in love with each other, Ryle also has a dark side when it comes to relationships and that slowly gets revealed before Li...

Love Redesigned - Book Review

Hey...this one was read by me a long long ago, but missed writing my review for it. Hence, I re-read it and here I'm after an arresting, stirring, absorbing and riveting experience having had again. This is one of the Lakefront Billionaires written by the international best selling author - Lauren Asher!  It is this book that made me read more of Lauren Asher.     Built around the scenic Lake Wisteria, this story is all about nostalgia. The un-modernized Historic District, Festival Fair Grounds, Founder's House and beautiful farms and main city. It's here that the protagonists grow up and then kind of loose touch due to a sequence of enticing events that take place in their lives. Julian Lopez and Dahlia Munoz have been crafted with a lot of creativity and detail. While both have been schoolmates and family friends growing up together and pranking each other, life brings a digression and both are moved distant from each other. Dahlia continues to pursue college, but...
