Part 1 - Summary of The Mahabharata Secret - Christopher Doyle

The only Summary that I've been able to find which is written by my bro - Dipen Vyas.

Part 1- Summary of one of my favorites...

I'm attempting to summarize this mysterious and thrilling novel of one of my favorite Indian English Writers. I hope all my readers would be tempted to read the novel after reading my summary. I've divided the summary into parts for the readers convenience.

The story begins in 244 BC when Ashoka and his courtier Surasen had discovered a secret from the cavern of hillside. The secret that dated from the time of the Mahabharata. The secret that could destroy the world and so Ashoka was determined to burry that secret forever. In the course of two years all the texts related to the secret were collected from the farthest nook of the kingdom and were burned to ashes. Nobody understood the reason, except only Ashoka, Surasen and the Eight of his courtiers.

In 500 AD Pala the court astronomer of Rajvirgarh was worried because someone knew that he was the member of the Brotherhood. As he had to ensure the safety of the Secret, he left for Bamiyan Caves in Afghanistan where he had to hand it over to a Monk - Santhal.

In March 2001 Taliban had destroyed the Bamiyan Buddhist statues and with this destruction the hidden caves were found and from one of them a human skeleton was found which dated back to 1500 years.

The present day begins where Vikram Singh is in his ancestral Jaungarh Fort where he had just finished talking over a call with his nephew who was in San Jose, California. It is then when he had seen something unusual from his fort. He saw two lights commencing from the distance in the hills towards the Fort. Vikram Singh was confirmed that danger was just about to come when his highly secured door system was hacked. He quickly went to his study and started mailing his nephew some emails which were a clue to the ancient secret; but before he could complete his task, one man called Farooq entered the Study accompanied by few of his men. He asked Vikram about the Key, but Vikram was adamant and didn't reveal anything. Instead he clicked the enter button of his laptop and the task was done. Vikram told Farooq that he is never going to find the Key or know the Secret as he needed the parts of puzzle and that's the reason the Secret remained undisturbed for 2000 years. Farooq showed him the metallic object and Vikram couldn't believe his eyes, again it was too late for him to do anything now.

In San Jose California, Vikram's nephew Vijay was restless thinking why had his uncle sent him wired mails soon after having a telephonic talk just few minutes ago. He opened his laptop and again went through the mails.

The first mail had just been two characters...

"9!"

The second mail was a bit confusing...

"Everything isn't always the way it looks. Sometimes you need to look deeper within. Study, the Bhagwad Gita - it is the source of much knowledge. The subject of Gita, though mixed up is a mark upon us for our future lives and will lead you through the door of knowledge which you must unlock. In an ocean of maya there is always an island of satya."

And the third mail was even more confusing...

"I have always followed the edicts of Asoka the Great. I urge you to follow them as well. They have served me well in my life and believe me, they will lead you on a voyage of discovery."

The fourth mail was...

"If something happens to me, you must seek out the Nine. If you look for a deeper meaning you will find it. 2000 years of history which I have safely guarded for the last 25 years is yours to unlock. Follow the path of truth and you will find your way through any illusion.

And the fifth and last mail was...

"Talk to Greg White."

In New York, Terrence Murphy got a call. The caller informed him that he has been assigned for a mission in India and has to leave for a flight to Delhi. The caller also informed him to learn something on Indian history.

Vijay got the news of his uncle's mysterious death . He performed his uncle's funeral rites with only a few attendants - Homi Mehta (his uncle's lawyer), Dr. Shukla (his uncle's close friend) and Radha (Dr. Shukla's daughter). Vijay was completely lost after his uncle's death as he was everything for him after his parents died. Police had investigated Vikram's mysterious murder, his study was searched, his laptop was missing and the secured system of his fort was hacked. Police was left clueless about Vikarm's murder as his head was beheaded and there was not even a single bloodshed found.

Greg White was in Bheem Singh's farmhouse. Bheem Singh's ancestors were rulers of Rajvirgarh. Bheem Singh showed him Brune Beger's diary - who was a German and was assigned by Hitler for a mission in India. In his diary he had mentioned about a 400 year old 'Temple of Tooth', 200 miles from Lhasa where ancient documents from India were kept in a Secret Vault and he was not allowed to see it. The documents were in Sanskrit dated 500 AD. The documents were copies of some older texts which were brought by a member of the Brotherhood. Bheem Singh told him to read the Sanskrit verse in which it was written that they had found a way to the Secret Vault and the text described the flying machines and arrows that can cause destruction; reading which there was an excitement in White's expression. Bheem Singh also told him that the text describes the Vimana Parva - the lost book of the Mahabharata which was accidentally found by his ancestors 1500 years ago. Bheem Singh told him that they are on a Secret Government Project on finding the Secret of Asoka's unknown Nine and he wants him to be a part of it. Bheen Singh also told him about the massacre of Temple of Tooth where 21 monks were killed. White told Bheem Singh that he knows a person who believes in Asoka's unknown Nine and he is Vikram Singh the Nuclear Scientist. This is when Bheem Singh informed White about the mysterious murder of Virkram Singh; hearing which White fell aghast and went to his hotel room, where he too was later attacked.

Next day, Vijay went to Indira Gandhi International Airport to receive his friend Colin who was coming from San Jose. While they were heading back to Jaungarh Fort from Delhi in their BMW; one Mercedes rashly overtook them and then they were on a trail by two other cars. Vijay tried his level best to escape from them but he and Colin were kidnapped.

Vijay and Colin found themselves in a windowless room where they were seated on a chair and their hands were tied back. After sometime, four men entered the room. Two were having Uzi Machine guns in their hands. One of them sat opposite to Vijay and asked him about the Key. Vijay was totally clueless and told him the same. This reply brought a quick hit by the Uzi's butt on Vijay's cheek making him fall over the side. The man informed Vijay that his uncle knew about the Key and has informed Vijay about the same in his emails. Thus, Vijay learnt that these were the men responsible for his uncle's death, which made him furious; though he kept his calm for the safety of Colin. Vijay quickly thought of a plan and agreed about the mails, but added that he had been unable to decipher them yet. Imtiyaz gave Vijay some papers and Farooq threatened him that he had one night to decipher the message in the mails. They were left under Maroosh's supervision, but Vijay and Colin could succeed in untying themselves, attacked Maroosh and escaped the kidnappers.

Terms And Conditions - Lauren Asher (Dreamland Billionaires)

The second book in the series of Dreamland Billionaires by Lauren Asher.  "its not too late to start making better decisions" "why would she stay? You never gave her a good reason to after the way you spoke to her." "Ya'aburnee" "I'll give you anything you want - anything at all - so long as you give me a chance to make you as happy as you make me. A dog. A family. A home. I want it all. These are my terms and conditions , take it or leave it because I'm not open to negotiations." Could there be a relationship with Terms and Conditions applied to? In the current century this question wouldn't trigger even a fraction of surprise or shock in anyone. Probably with digitalization and artificial intelligence taking over almost all walks of our lives, it is only considered normal to think about conditionality in all spheres - seems like human behaviour and relationships are being re-crafted by AI ensuring a step-by-step clear process ma...

Love Redesigned - Book Review

Hey...this one was read by me a long long ago, but missed writing my review for it. Hence, I re-read it and here I'm after an arresting, stirring, absorbing and riveting experience having had again. This is one of the Lakefront Billionaires written by the international best selling author - Lauren Asher!  It is this book that made me read more of Lauren Asher.     Built around the scenic Lake Wisteria, this story is all about nostalgia. The un-modernized Historic District, Festival Fair Grounds, Founder's House and beautiful farms and main city. It's here that the protagonists grow up and then kind of loose touch due to a sequence of enticing events that take place in their lives. Julian Lopez and Dahlia Munoz have been crafted with a lot of creativity and detail. While both have been schoolmates and family friends growing up together and pranking each other, life brings a digression and both are moved distant from each other. Dahlia continues to pursue college, but...
