Whew! It's a Wow experience sailing through this series of Twisted every emotion. Ana Huang keeps her readers all interested at all times with a promise of exciting them, thrilling them and above all plotting the story in such a way that one remains amazed at every twist and turn.
The story is evident about her caption - "He hates her...almost as much as he wants her."
Alike the previous 2 stories in this series, this is another type of romance. In Twisted Love we come across the protagonists fighting their childhood traumas and finding reason to trust the other through love; while in Twisted Games we come face to face with the most dramatic love story between a royal princess who is only wishing for true love and her bodyguard with the most traumatic childhood experiences believing in everything other than love to be real and true. In Twisted Hate we have the most charismatic man in Josh Chen for whom it is almost as easy as pie to charm any girl except for Jules Ambrose.
Jules Ambrose is one of Ava's, Josh's real younger sister's best friend. But as per Josh she is the worst influence that Ava could have. He believes that all the problems that Ava lands into is all because of her being with Jules.
While Josh is diligently pursuing to become a hotshot doctor, Jules is focused on passing her attorney's bar exam and become a successful practitioner. Both are similar in a lot of ways. Both love to party, both are cocky, outgoing and ambitious and extremely serious about building their careers.
It is like the more they try to avoid each-other, the more circumstances bring them before each-other. The story progresses in this direction when Jules accepts a part-time job at the clinic where Josh too lends his services beyond his hospital hours. It is here that they learn a lot about each-other and realize that there's far more about the other than meets to the eye. Gradually, both start learning a lot about the other and the layers start to peel off making the real person visible. Though, all of this resulted out of their "an enemies with benefits arrangement with simple rules like - No jealousy, No strings attached, And absolutely no falling in love."
It is then that Jules realizes how understanding and caring Josh is. How soft and emotional and humane he is when he feels upset after failing to save the life of one of his patients. Josh realizes the reasons for Jules being so ambitious and opportunist, he understands how she had to overcome numerous challenges in her childhood and teen days to reach where she is at present.
However, the story isn't less of misunderstandings and suspicions and mistrust and dubiety. There also is this most plausible challenge to come face-to-face with Ava and the others for whom Josh and Jules were none other than strong enemies of each-other.
Well, the story is wonderfully knitted at each curve and steadily develops both the protagonists to rise beyond their weaknesses, misfortunes, misunderstandings, deceits and realize how much their love for each-other means and how everything else seems trivia before their emotion for the other. They finally come through everything and are celebrated by their closest friends too.
Believe me, if you like a sassy love story full of drama, then this is the one you may not want to miss.
